Accounting

The entry requirements of the Certified Practising Accountant Australia (CPA Australia), Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA) and the National Institute of Accountants (NIA) can be satisfied by completing individual units of study at UNE.

Students with overseas degree qualifications in Commerce, Business or Accounting who are seeking conversion of overseas accounting qualifications can study either from overseas or in Australia single units to meet CPA Australia and ICAA requirements. Studying by distance from within Australia is not available to international students who are in Australia on a Student Visa.

Candidates with a university qualification equivalent to an Australian Bachelor's degree are usually required to study one or more single university units covering tax law, company law, and accounting theory. UNE offers these units through their fully supported distance education program.

Candidates should apply to CPA, ICAA or NIA for a written assessment of their particular education program for membership (please note that fees may apply for these assessments).
