ID Cards
Contents
Your Student ID Card displays your photo and your student number. It is proof of your enrolment.
You must have it to:
- Borrow books from the University's libraries
- After hours access to computing labs including the IT Building
- Sit for an examination (photo ID is required when attending examinations)
- Photocopying & Printing
- Access to College Facilities
Student ID Cards can be obtained either in person from the ID Card Office (C17), at the Campus Safety Centre (B89) or by mail. Applications for a Student Identification Card cannot be made by Email or Facsimile.
To obtain your card in person:
- Complete the Student ID card Application form
- Bring the completed application form, and 100 points of identification to either the ID Card Office (C17) or the Campus Safety Centre (B89).
- You can either have your photo taken in the ID Card Office (C17), Campus Safety Centre (B89) or you can provide either office with a passport photo of yourself.
- Cards can be collected 48 hours from the date of submission from the location the application lodged if enrolment is complete.
To obtain your card by mail:

New Students.
New students are required to apply for a Student Identification Card. Applications can be downloaded by clicking on Student Identification Card
An *original passport photo and *100 points of identification must accompany the application form when forwarded to either the ID Card Office (C17) or the Campus Safety Centre (B89). Students who do not provide an *original passport photo or *100 points of identification will have their forms returned requesting that the correct information be provided before an ID Card can be issued.

New cards are dispatched once enrolment is complete/confirmed for the currently enrolled semester.
If you require after hours access to a building via the Cardax swipe card system, please complete the Electronic Access Request Form & have your unit coordinator scan & email it to security@une.edu.au or place it in the internal mail addressed to ID Card Office, Shop 4 Union Arcade for action. Please allow 24 hours for your access to be placed on your card & note that requests are only processed during business hours.
Note - the office manager at each residential college will advise & authorise the ID Card office to place swipe card access on each student card for their residence.

Resuming or Continuing Students
A Student Travel Concession is available to on-campus full time students only.
Students who require transport concession stickers must complete a green travel concession application form available from either the ID Card Office (C17) or the Campus Safety Centre (B89). This form must be submitted each year as the concession sticker expires on the 31st of March.
Once the student’s enrolment status is checked a 12 month concession sticker will be issued.
If you require after hours access to a building via the Cardax swipe card system, please complete the Electronic Access Request Form & have your unit coordinator scan & email it to security@une.edu.au or place it in the internal mail addressed to ID Cards, Shop 4 Union Arcade for action. Please allow 24 hours for your access to be placed on your card & note that requests are only processed during business hours.

Resuming or Continuing students will be sent, prior to the commencement of semester 1 2012 an updated expiry sticker. When you receive this sticker, please position it over the expiry date on your student card in order to validate your student card for 2012.

Replacement of Lost, Stolen or Damaged Cards
Students are provided with one Student ID Card during the course of their degree free of charge.
If your student card is lost or stolen please advise UNE by emailing security@une.edu.au so that the card can be cancelled.
Stolen cards must be reported to the Police via the Police Assistance Line on 131 444. A new ID Card will be issued free of charge when the Police Report number is provided.
To obtain a new student card in person you will first need to pay a *$10 replacement fee with the UNE cashier. Then take your receipt to either the ID Card office (C17) or the Campus Safety Centre (B89) along with *100 points of identification & staff in the ID Card office will issue you with a replacement.
For those who are unable to pay for & collect their student card in person, please forward the Student ID Card application form together with an *original passport photo, *100 points of identification and a cheque/money order for $10.00 made payable to the University of New England. New On-Campus (Internal) Students and Intensive Schools Attendance
It is essential for “ON CAMPUS” students and “OFF CAMPUS” (External/Distance) students attending Intensive Schools to obtain a Student ID Card.
Applications must be received three weeks prior to arrival on campus. If a Student ID Card is not obtained, prior to arrival on campus, access to UNE facilities may not be obtained, this includes Colleges, Library Services and Computer Labs.
Applications received during intensive schools are subject to delay.

Staff ID Cards
To obtain a Staff ID Card complete the Staff ID Card form & submit it to either the ID Card Office (C17) or the Campus Safety Centre (B89). Please refer to the back of the form for further details.
There will be a replacement cost of $10 for lost or damaged cards through negligence (that is bent or cracked cards). Damaged cards must be returned to the ID Card Office (C17) or the Campus Safety Centre (B89) for cancellation. If you are a currently employed on a contract at the University of New England your card will expire on the date that your contract ends. If your contract of employment is extended your Supervisor/Manager is required to complete the Electronic Access Request Form & send it to security@une.edu.au or place it in the internal mail addressed to ID Cards, Shop 4 Union Arcade for action.
