Postgraduate Research

The School of Humanities offers research degrees at Masters and Doctoral levels across a number of disciplines, providing opportunity for innovative academic research and scholarship at the highest level. Doctoral and Masters degrees in the Humanities provide comprehensive research training upon which to build careers in academic, business, professional or government sectors.  Students interested in undertaking Higher Degree Research in the School of Humanities should begin by contacting the School's Higher Degree Research (HDR) Coordinator, TBA, and/or the School's expert in the relevant Discipline or chosen field of study. Inquiries may also be directed to the Head of School, Professor Lynda Garland, ldillon@une.edu.au.

The School of Humanities Research Programme

Each year the School's HDR Coordinator runs workshops and events for undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in undertaking, or currently undertaking, research in the School of Humanities.  These events include writing workshops, seminars, information sessions and advice on research, scholarship, work, and publishing opportunities, and the 3 Minute Thesis competition.  Information for all of these events is provided on the School of Humanities HDR Portal.  Please contact the HDR Coordinator if you require help to access the SHums HDR Portal Moodle Site.

Below is a link to The Great Debate, which was just one of the public events in the 2012 School of Humanities Research Expo organised by Dr Bronwyn Hopwood.  The School of Humanities Research Expo celebrates the work of staff and students within the School of Humanities as part of a week of information and workshops showcasing research and academic life in the field of Humanities.
