Luca Fiorenza has been recently awarded with two UNE grants

Dr. Luca Fiorenza has been recently awarded with two internal grants (UNE Research Seed Grants 2013, $14,875; UNE Partnerships Career Development Awards for Early Career Researchers, $10,000): funding that will be incorporated into his DECRA project by collecting data for preliminary studies and with trainings and workshops on Finite Element Analysis. This opportunity will extend his on-going research in Virtual Anthropology, using non-invasive digital techniques with fragmentary human fossil materials.

 

 

Luca Fiorenza’s work on Neanderthal at the next AAPA meeting

Dr. Luca Fiorenza will present two works on Neanderthals  (“Tooth wear and culture in the Middle Paleolithic humans from Near East” and “New Neanderthal remains from Kalamakia cave, Mani pensinsula, Southern Greece”) at the 82nd Annual Meeting of American Association of Physical Anthropologists (AAPA) that will be held 9-13 April 2013 in Knoxville (Tennessee, USA). This travel was funded with the support of the School of Humanities (SHums Conference Travel Grants, $2,000).
