Joint Enterprise Bargaining Statement
Dear Colleagues
The Enterprise Bargaining negotiations continued on 21 and 22 March, in relation to a proposed replacement agreement(s) to cover the terms and conditions of employment for Academic, General and English Language Centre staff.
Following the last meeting, management has agreed to retain the current 5 weeks of annual leave for General Staff, and uncapped sick leave. Focus has now moved to determining what changes are required to meet the Higher Education Workplace Relations Requirements.
Significant matters still to resolve (not an exhaustive list) include:
- Single or separate Agreements
- Length of Agreement
- Genuine choice of AWAs
- Salary increases
- Managing Workplace Change
- Matters to be in Agreement or Policy
- Academic Workload
- Package to replace HECE (limitations on fixed term employment)
- Package to replace “No Forced Retrenchments”
- Performance Management System
- Consultative mechanisms with staff
The next meeting of the bargaining teams has been scheduled for 10 & 11 April, 2006, and regularly thereafter.
