Superannuation Seminars

Frank Scarrabelotti - Unisuper NSW Manager will be on campus to run the following seminars:
(i) 2007 Super Opportunities - 28 March 1.00pm
In the May 2006 federal budget superannuation received significant attention. The treasurer announced plans to radically overhaul the way super operates. This seminar will highlight the superannuation opportunities that members will have before and after 1 July 2007. It will cover:
. New contribution rules
. New tax rates on pensions and lump sums
. Consolidation of 'pre-July 1983 component'
. New simplified pension payment rules
. Abolition of compulsory cashing rules
. Tax File Numbers (TFN's)
. Social Security Changes
(ii) UniSuper pension products and 20 September changes - 29 March 1.00pm
This seminar deals with the changes announced by the Federal Government relating to superannuation pensions and age pension eligibility. It covers
. UniSuper pension products
. The effect of the new rules on pension products
. Transition to retirement pension arrangements
. Treatment of UniSuper pension products for Centrelink purposes
. Changes to Centrelink Age Pension Asset Test rules
