Staff Vote 'YES' to New Agreement
At a meeting held Monday, 28 August 2006, UNE staff voted to approve The University of New England Workplace Agreement 2006 – 2008 in accordance with Section 340 of the Workplace Relations Act 1996. 229 staff voted in favour of the new Agreement, and one voted against (including electronic votes by staff who were not on campus the day of the ballot).
The Agreement was lodged with the Office of the Employment Advocate (OEA) on Tuesday, 29 August 2006, and is therefore effective from that date.
In accordance with Section 346 of the Workplace Relations Act 1996, a declaration receipt issued by the OEA (receipt no. 06617461) can be found at http://www.une.edu.au/hrs/handbook/05/5.09A.pdf. Can all managers please ensure that any staff who do not have access to the UNE website are given a copy of this declaration receipt.
All staff are therefore advised that the three former Enterprise Agreements:
- The University of New England General Staff Enterprise Agreement 2003 – 2006;
- The University of New England Academic Staff Enterprise Agreement 2003 – 2006;
- The University of New England language Training Centre Enterprise Agreement 2003 – 2006
are now rescinded and replaced by the new Workplace Agreement.
