Transitional Heads of School - Message from the Vice-Chancellor
Dear Colleagues
Following a call for expressions of interest on 8 June 2007, I am pleased to advise that the following staff have accepted the position of Transitional Head of School.
School of Arts – Associate Professor Kerry Dunne;
School of Behavioural, Cognitive and Social Sciences – Professor Bill Noble;
School of Humanities – Associate Professor Lynda Garland;
School of Environmental and Rural Science – Professor John Gibson;
School of Science and Technology – Professor A S M Sajeev;
School of Business, Economics and Public Policy – Professor Lynn Meek; and
School of Education – Professor Ian Hay.
The appointment for the School of Health will be advised as soon as possible.
There were no expressions of interest in the position of Transitional Head of School in the School of Law that could be considered through this process. I am pleased to advise that Associate Professor Harry Geddes has agreed to be Acting Head of School. The position of Head of School of Rural Medicine will be filled in due course.
I thank all staff who expressed an interest in these positions and congratulate the successful applicants, who will commence duty in their roles on 19 July 2007 when the Academic Reorganisation is implemented. I look forward to working with the Transitional Heads and ask that all staff support them.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor and Deans and Transitional Heads of Schools will now commence to consult with Faculty and School staff to ensure that position descriptions for the roles of general staff are accurate and appropriate.
