Message from the Vice-Chancellor

Dear Colleagues,

Today marks a very important time for UNE as we move into the new academic organisational structure. I believe that the new structure will greatly facilitate the development and improved operation of the University. I am very grateful for those who have assisted us in reaching this point and who continue to work through the fine details of the implementation. We have been discussing these issues at VCC to ensure that the necessary tasks are coordinated.

I would like to express my thanks to the out-going Heads of Schools for their contributions over various periods, and to the new Transitional Heads who are taking up their new roles. The Transitional Heads have been meeting with their PVC-Deans as planned and will begin the process of consultation with staff. I and members of VCC will also be meeting with the Transitional Heads as a group in the middle of August to discuss our immediate priorities and strategies for the future. I look forward to that meeting very much as we work to improve the University and address the various challenges that lie ahead.
