The papers, correspondences, portraits, printed books and artefacts of the Spencer family of Ironbark Creek station and their friend Edward Newton. Almost half of this material belongs to Edward Newton who arrived in Sydney in March 1842 aboard the Duche
ss of Kent. Newton's portion of the accession includes (i) eight printed books ranging in topics from the Holy Bible to The History of England, (ii) an undated pen portrait and two oil miniatures, one of which is a portrait of Stephen Lamprell Sencer of
Wickhambrook, Moulton, Suffolk, (iii) 2 framed photographs of Mary McKidd, c.1850, who married William Spencer, (iv) drafting instruments of Edward Newton and the measurements of various areas and solids, 1840-1841, (v) a pocket companion containing notes
made during the passage between London and Sydney, 1841-1842 and (vi) various personal and business letters, 1846-1864. The remainder of this collection relates to the Spencer family of Ironbark Creek station. Included in this material is (i) Seven phot

Posters displaying auctioneers' maps advertising the subdivision of Tenterfield cattle station issued on the occasions of sales by auction of certain blocks from that property. Sales took place on November 7, 1907 (28,000 acres offered) and again on June
20, 1923 (about 2000 acres). The poster advertising the earlier sale is in fragments. The 1923 poster is in fair condition. There is also an account book (belonging to Rawdon Mack) relating to the property "Sunnyside" and covering the period 1934-39. Some
