The papers of William Low Jnr., Watchmaker and jeweller, Uralla. Included are his indenture of apprenticeship to Carroll and de Moulin of Armidale (1877); a deed of grant re: a town allotment in Uralla purchased by his first wife (1888); Low's Elector's R
ight certificates (for 1894 and 1901); and papers relating to his nomination, appointment and function as a Justice of the Peace (1920). There are also some photographs including one of his father William Low Snr.(1871). William Low Jnr., J.P. (watchmaker
and tobacconist) was born about 1863. The son of an Armidale blacksmith, he married Harriet A. Rees in 1887 and after her death (about 1907) married Emily Annah Wilkinson. He served on the Uralla Municipal Council, eventually being elected Mayor. |
