ARMIDALE GOLF CLUB: RECORDS Two volumes of minutes (1943-55, 1956-60) recording the sporting and social activities of the Club. Annual reports and treasurers statements are pasted in with the minutes or occasionally found loose between the pages. ARMIDALE, HILLGROVE AND URALLA COURTHOUSES: RECORDS Criminal and civil law: the various courts for which there are records include Quarter Sessions, Small Debts, Warden's and District Courts. Armidale records cover 1856-1948, Hillgrove, c.1871-73, 1888-1938, and Uralla 1858-1957. Information, mostly contained in books and registers includes brief summaries of court proceedings, plaints and the collection of fees. Much of the material has been generated by mining activity at Hillgrove, Rocky River and elsewhere. Many of the registers deal exclusively with the administration of mining claims. Further records include: from the Armidale Courthouse, letters received, 1873-82 and an Account Book of John Mulligan, 1861-62 (miller of Armidale), from the Uralla Courthouse: police records (7 vols.) 1870-82, 1931-50, and copies of letters sent, 1877-78. 229 vols., 1 box. ARMIDALE AND THE NEW ENGLAND REGION MAPS Mostly photostats of maps held in other collections. Included are: Allan Cunningham's "Sketch Map Hunter's River to Moreton Bay" (1827); Surveyor Gorman's "Map of the town of Armidale" (1849); William Gardner's "Sketch Map of Northern N.S.W" (1854) and E. Knapp's "Map of Bergen-op-Zoom Run" (1854). There is also a number of maps and plans of Sandon county mostly drawn in the 1890's, and a geological map of the Hillgrove goldfield (1900). ARTS COUNCIL OF AUSTRALIA ARMIDALE BRANCH: MINUTES One volume of minutes; inside front cover is a typewritten list of the "Armidale Branch Constitutional By-Laws". A list of office-bearers and committee members follows, including members of sub-groups specifically concerned with Music and Drama respectively. This volume is evidently not the inaugural minute book of the branch, since reference is made in the first set of minutes (3rd March, 1952) to earlier meetings. Until December 1955, minutes are handwritten. From February 1956, they are typed and pasted into the book. (See also earlier accession A138) 1 vol. 1952-1964. A138a

AUSTRALIAN AGRICULTURAL COMPANY: RECORDS Series Lists of the records of the A.A. Company (established 1824) and its subsidiary the Peel River Land and Mineral Company (established 1853) held at the Australian National University Archives. They describe a very large collection of records, including diaries, correspondence, maps, accounts and stock books relating to the Company's agricultural, pastoral and commercial interests on the Liverpool Plains and elsewhere. AYTONDALE AND ABBEY GREEN STATIONS, SINGLETON RECORDS Towards the end of last century the cattle stations "Aytondale" and "Abbey Green" belonging to W.M. Loder and George Loder respectively, specialised in the breeding of Hereford cattle, though "Abbey Green" also carried sheep. These Loder properties were situated to the south-west of Singleton on the road to Broke. Loders' "Abbey Green" is not to be confused with a property of the same name at Llangothlin, near Guyra in northern N.S.W. The two volumes in this accession comprise (i) Aytondale: Australian Hereford Stud Book, 1859-1928; giving name of bull, date calved, breeder's name, owner's name and details of animal's pedigree.
