GSB 782 Action Learning Project
This is a project based unit designed to provide students with the opportunity to undertake an action learning work-based project. Students will undertake a project of their choosing (which normally will have been planned in MBA 781) using action learning methodology. They will work in set groups of approximately six and communicate with other set group members through the web/phone/direct contact.
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Conduct the action learning work place project, which was planned in MBA 781.
2. Critically reflect their project-based experiences within the action learning framework.
3. Reflect an enhanced level of understanding through concrete experiences in the action learning project.
Students will produce a single end-of-trimester report on their action learning project at the end of the unit approximately 6000 words. The report will include an overview of project evolution and progress, processes for gathering and responding to feedback, and lessons they have learned through the action learning process.
The unit is essentially an independent-study unit focusing on the execution and write-up of the project, under the supervision of the unit coordinator and other staff, as appropriate to the specific project. Student learning will be continually reinforced by interactions with their set groups for the projects within their organisation.
