Data mining involves examining large data sets for latent information which may be of commercial value. Data mining combines machine learning statistics and graphics to interpret large data bases. The scope of data mining covers, what data exists, what the datat represent, potential uses for the data, visualisation to reveal structure in data sets, producing informative summaries of data and reporting on the information.
