Graduate Certificate in Management
This award is offered by the Graduate School of Business, which manages the UNE Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. The award enables students to develop a range of management skills. Students select four units from approximately 60 units. Students may choose from broad management subjects or may choose to specialize in an area such as Marketing or Human Resource Management.
Admission
Applicants for admission to candidature for the Graduate Certificate in Management must have:
- have completed a three-year degree or an equivalent qualification at UNE or another recognised tertiary institution; or
- satisfy the Faculty by means of other qualifications and relevant experience of adequate preparation for candidature.
In addition, applicants must provide evidence of at least three years managerial experience in a field of employment approved by the Director of the GSB.
Requirements
To satisfy the requirements for the award of the Graduate Certificate in Management, a candidate must complete four GSB units. Students are required to complete the Certificate in no more than six trimesters.
Students may complete any four units from the list of units available, with due consideration of prerequisites and Major requirements
All candidates without a first degree must enrol initially in the Graduate Certificate. Such candidates must obtain at least a credit average grade in the four units taken in the Graduate Certificate to be permitted to continue to the Graduate Diploma or MBA.
There is no requirement to include foundation units in the Certificate. If your plan is to continue to the MBA it is recommended that you commence the program with the assumption that you will progress to the MBA, and begin to work towards a major if you wish to. Please consider however, that you will need to have completed at least six foundation units in a twelve unit MBA.

- Evidence of English Language Proficiency where prior studies were not in English
