Mr Robert Finch
Mr Robert Finch is a retired Chartered Accountant with forty years experience in his profession. During his professional career Mr Finch provided business, taxation and risk management services to a diverse range of large corporate and semi-government clients and small to medium enterprises.
Mr Finch's area of expertise includes:
- Auditing and risk management in local government, the health sector and government owned corporations;
- Business advising in the livestock and stud industries;
- Property development and management;
- ITC systems development and implementation; and
- Professional practice strategic planning and consolidation.
Career achievements and community contributions include:
- Past President and Director, Local Government Auditor's Association;
- Chair and Director, Autumn Lodge Ltd;
- Past President, Secretary and Treasurer, Armidale Rotary Club;
- Chair of Trustees, Aberbaldie Foundation;
- Senior Partner, Forsyths Chartered Accountants;
- Commissioned Officer, Australian Army Reserve; and
- Member of various community based organisations.
Mr Finch was first appointed to the University of New England Council in 2008 and
currently serves on the following UNE Council Committees:
- Chair, Finance Committee;
- Chair, Tender Committee;
- Member, Audit & Risk Committee;
- Member, Remuneration Committee; and
- Member, Standing Committee.
Mr Finch is supported in his endeavours by his wife Jenny and three children, two of
whom were educated at UNE and experienced the University's unique collegiate
environment.
