Ms Catherine Millis
Ms Catherine Millis serves as the elected Postgraduate UNE Council Member, and is the student representative on the Standing Committee of Council.
Ms Millis graduated from Virginia Tech (USA) with a Bachelor Science/Human Nutrition and Foods. At UNE she graduated with a Bachelor Computer Science/Electronics and a Master of Computing Studies where her thesis was titled “Texture Recognition in Breast Cancer Laser Diagnostic Medical Imaging Using Three Dimensional Differential Convolution”.
Currently she is a UNE PhD Candidate researching “Texture Discrimination Using Parallel Graphics Processors (GPUs) in a Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) Environment”.
She presently works in medical imaging (bone densitometry) and operates a Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometer, which services the wider rural/regional Armidale area.
