Swara Naga Workshops

The group’s workshop programme centres on teaching newcomers to the tradition a basic gamelan piece over the course of one-hour. Because gamelan is a co-operative, ensemble form of music-making and the different instruments require different levels of technical expertise, people of all musical abilities and skills can be accommodated.

The group has now been operating with success for many years and has already made significant contributions to the musical life and experiences of school children in the NSW education system through its extensive concert and workshop activities. Its many concert tours outside Armidale (to northern NSW, Queensland and Sydney) have brought new musical and cultural experiences to a wide range of Australians.
