Where To From Here?

From October, individual schools and directorates will be visited by ODU staff to present their area’s survey results and enable discussion and planning around addressing priorities. Each area will be encouraged to choose three priorities that they can work to address themselves over the next two years prior to the next Voice Survey iteration.

About the 2010 Voice Staff Satisfaction Survey

The Voice Staff Satisfaction survey was conducted for the second time at UNE, and was held from Monday 17 May to Friday 4 June 2010. The survey, which was first conducted at UNE in 2007, was developed and delivered by Voice Project Pty Ltd of Macquarie University and collected anonymous data from staff participants about UNE direction, leadership and work environment.

Professor Jim Barber, UNE Vice-Chancellor welcomed the survey, viewing it as an excellent opportunity to further understand staff perception and the UNE environment.

55% of all UNE employees responded to the 2010 survey. The survey responses have been used to identify organisational strengths, as well as areas of concern to which attention and resources need to be focused. It has also allowed the benchmarking of UNE against 28 other participating Australian Universities, as well as approximately 1900 other organisations from various work sectors in and outside of Australia. This time around, in addition to comparing the survey outcomes to these organisations, the results have been compared against the 2007 UNE benchmarks which allows UNE to measure the progress we have made over the last two to three years.

The presentations of the 2010 UNE Staff Satisfaction Survey Results will allow staff to understand the high-level results and engage with the UNE leadership team to discuss possible strategies and solutions to address our action priorities.
