Distance Education Undergraduate

People change universities during their degree for many different reasons.

If you are looking to move to UNE, we would like to make that as easy as possible for you. You can apply directly to the University – no need to bother with UAC or QTAC – and we will do our best to recognise all the subjects you have completed so far so they count towards your degree.

Studying by distance is a great way to study if you need to be somewhere else, like on the family farm or at work, and can’t move to Armidale. People taking a gap year to work or study can also keep making progress on their degree by doing a subject or two by distance education.

UNE is Australia’s longest continuous provider of distance education with many thousands of students studying by distance throughout the county and all over the world. As part of our unique expertise in providing flexible study options by distance education, we offer a range of support systems to help you succeed in your studies.

Almost every degree at UNE is available by distance education. You will need to have access to the internet, an office or other good place for you to study, and about 15 hours a week for each subject (unit) you plan to study each semester.

The information here is a good start on the path to choosing your degree at UNE. Remember, if at any point it seems confusing, or if you have questions, there are plenty of people around to help you. Feel free to contact us anytime.

Get a life without leaving it – study by distance with UNE.
