UNE Online

UNE is leading the way in making studying by distance easier and more fulfilling through innovative use of online tools. We are constantly improving online access and support for students.

There are a number of systems we have in place to make accessing everything you need to study very easy via the internet. We strongly advise all students to have broadband access to the internet to enable full use of the services we offer.

We also do our best to support and facilitate communication between students and staff online with discussion boards and multiple email lists for the distribution of information through the university community.

myUNE

myUNE is the main portal through which you will interact with the university.
myUNE is your one-stop web site with a single login to find and manage your personal UNE information. Information you need will be presented to you automatically and is specific to your role at UNE.
Inside myUNE are the following tabs

Home
access information for current students and UNE services provided by the Student Centre.

myStudy
allows you to access learning resources for your current units.

myInfo
gives you access to personal tasks such as changing your preferred name or addresses, accessing confirmation of enrolment, viewing course and unit enrolment details, viewing your examination details and replacing your UNE student ID card.

Account
gives you access to information about your UNE computer account such as Webmail and Internet usage.

myLibrary
provides instant access to electronic resources and advice on library services.

myAssist

myUNE contains all your course information, notes, discussion boards where you can chat to other students and discuss your topics, your results and enrolment information.

All assignments are submitted electronically through the portal as well. Most forms you will need throughout your studies are also being put online.

Library services online

Dixson Library provides many services for distance education students. These high level off-campus services distinguish UNE from other universities.

Through the Dixson Library website you can:

• Borrow books that are sent to you by mail
• Order photocopies (free to distance education students) or electronic scans of books
• Access electronic journal databases
• Access e-books and e-publications
• Request library staff to conduct a subject search if you are having trouble finding what you are looking for using online catalogues.
• Ask a librarian a question

Dixson Library has staff available by phone or email to assist distance education students.

AskUNE

If you have a question about your studies or something you need help with, you can use AskUNE 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Search by keyword to find answers. If you cannot find the answer you can log in and submit your question. You can also track the progress of any inquiries you have made and update your contact information.

  UNExtra and Kate UNE

UNExtra is UNE’s own social networking platform. On this site you can meet with other potential students and get regular reminders and information from UNE. There are also groups for parents of UNE students, Careers Advisers and current students.

You can also find Kate UNE on most social networking platforms such as facebook or MySpace. Kate is your virtual contact to UNE, there for you to get convenient reminders and ask quick questions in whatever site you like to use.

Kate is mainly there for potential students of UNE, but is friends with current and past students too. Have a look at Kate UNE's groups to find and connect with other students.
