Choosing your supervisor

An honours course usually comprises 48 credit points (one year full time study) involving course work and a dissertation.

For the dissertation you will need to select a research topic and have a supervisor who is a knowledgeable academic in that field. Ideally you should be talking to them about your research project before you apply.

To find a supervisor in your area of interest start by searching the subject areas http://www.une.edu.au/study/ to identify which school administers your subject. You can also contact us for guidance.

Alternatively UNE has a number of targeted research areas, which are areas of study we are actively seeking students to participate in. Browse through the targeted research areas to find someone in your area of interest.

If your area of interest is not listed as an available honours degree please contact us. Often you will be able to do honours in that area as part of a broader discipline course.
