Why study Sociology, Criminology and Forensic Science at UNE?

Sociology
Sociology is the study of society: our society and other societies. Sociology can help us better understand who we are, what we do, and why we do it, by situating individuality in a social context. In this way it can increase our self knowledge and cultural awareness. Students can major in Sociology by enrolling in a Bachelor of Social Science or a Bachelor of Arts.

Criminology
As a student of Criminology, you will study criminal law, criminology, forensic science, forensic anthropology, policing, penology and the sociology of deviance. You will also undertake training in research methods, crime prevention, and social policy analysis, which will equip you with the necessary skills for employment in the criminal justice sector.

Forensic Science
Forensic science, in its broadest definition, is used to support the criminal justice system. However, in practice, forensic science involves the application of scientific techniques to the investigation of crime.
