Law at UNE

Why study Law at UNE?

UNE offers a number of challenging, and intellectually-rigorous programs which provide an ideal preparation for a career in law and non-law areas. A law degree has two distinct, but related purposes. Firstly, it meets the academic requirements for admission to practice as a solicitor or barrister. UNE law awards meet the academic requirements for practice in all states and territories in Australia. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, a law degree allows a student to explore a discipline that regulates interactions between members of society, as well as the relationship between those members and their government.

All units in the law degrees offered at UNE have an online presence, and many units have lectures podcasted so they are available to off-campus students. Law at UNE has one of the highest staff-to-student ratios of any law school in Australia, allowing for a close academic relationship between teachers and students.
