Education and Teaching at UNE

Why study Education and Teaching at UNE?

UNE provides world class programs in early childhood, primary, secondary and special education disability studies, and a range of specialisations for those wishing to teach in a secondary school setting.

Our Early Childhood Education courses provide advanced qualifications for people with prior study or work experience in the early childhood field. These courses enable students to continue working while studying part time by distance education.

The primary education programs offer the choice of a number of education focus areas, discipline studies or an internship. They can also be completed in tandem with either early childhood education or K-12 Teaching.

Education graduates can work as a primary teacher and will have well developed leadership, organisational, interpersonal and group skills that are valued in all occupations where "people skills" are paramount. Gradates with a teaching degree are able to work as a secondary teacher. Opportunities also exist for careers as TAFE teachers.
