Flexible studying options

UNE has one of the most flexible arrangements for studying of all universities in Australia.

Almost all subjects are available to study by distance education, meaning you can study what you want from wherever you are. You can also take some subjects by distance while studying on campus if you want to reduce your class time for work, family or other reasons.

You can study as little as one unit at a time through to full time. Summer school is also available if you want to get ahead on your degree.

Want to take time off to go travelling or work for a while? No problem. You can take a break from studying at any point during your degree. However, it is recommended that the break be no longer than two years and there is a maximum number of years you can take to complete your degree.

Anytime you want to suspend, defer, switch to on or off campus, speed up, slow down, change direction or otherwise alter what and how you are studying – it is usually no problem. Just get in contact with the student centre and they will walk you through what you need to do in terms of administration.
