If my application is successful, can I defer my study?
No. Successful applications to the Alternative Entry Pathway cannot be deferred. If you wish to defer your studies then you should consider applying for UNE Early Entry.
Can I apply for UNE Early Entry at the same time?
Yes. You can apply for UNE Early Entry at the same time.
Can I apply for UNE Scholarships?
Yes. You can apply for a UNE scholarships. For scholarship information visit une.edu.au/scholarships
Can I submit the Alternative Entry Pathway/Scholarships forms to UNE myself?
No. Both the Alternative Entry and Scholarship applications require your school to complete their recommendations. Any application without a school stamp and the signature of the School Principal or their delegate may not be processed.
When will I know if I am successful?
You will usually be informed by early December if you have been successful in your application for Alternative Entry Pathway.
Do I have to live in College?
There is no requirement to live in College, however, the UNE Colleges provide excellent academic and social support services that help in your transition to living away from home and to university study.
Will I need to make a formal application in order to progress to the University of Sydney in Year 2?
As long as you have met the academic criteria set out on page 2 you will be guaranteed a 2nd year place at the University of Sydney.
What if I don’t meet the entry requirements to go to the University of Sydney in Year 2?
You will not be offered a guaranteed place at the University of Sydney. Provided you meet minimum progression standards for the course in which you are enrolled at UNE, you will be able to complete your studies at UNE.
What if I want to change my area of study?
You must consult one of UNE’s First Year Advisers before making any changes to your major or course. Changes are permitted but may result in forfeit of your guaranteed place at the University of Sydney.
Are Alternative Entry Pathway and Scholarship applications confidential?
Yes. Your information is only made available to those assessing your applications, the Scholarships Committee, and if applicable, the donor of the scholarship you are applying for. The supply of this information by you is voluntary; however if you do not supply all the requested information we may not be able to assess your application. You have the right to access and/or correct any of your personal information held by the University, subject to the reasonable convenience of the University.
