Australian Defence Forces

UNE specialises in professional development, career development and leadership for Australian Defence Forces and is Australia's most experienced distance educator, with over 60 years at the forefront of distance education and over 70 years of experience as an educator to the Australian Defence Forces.

Distance education allows you to tailor your studies to suit your life. When studying by distance, we keep In close contact via a number of methods and support you with all the reference material you need. So no matter how faraway you are, you'll never feel distant.

Several courses have recently been re-structured with significant input from ADF Education Officers to maintain a close relevance to ADF Personnel's training and career development needs.

Our courses are workplace oriented and have a long history of meeting the needs of defence professionals.

Want to upgrade your qualifications?

At UNE we recognise the training, experience and workplace qualifications you receive in the Defence Force. UNE rewards your experience. If your work history and credentials are equivalent to two years of study you can enrol in the Bachelor of Organisational Leadership, or the Bachelor of Training and Development at third-year level. If you already have a degree you can enrol in the Master of Leadership or the Master of Training and Development.

Recognised Prior Learning

If you are ranked WO1, or above, you will be admitted into Third Year of either a 3-year Bachelor of Organisational Leadership or Bachelor of Training and Development.

If you are ranked sergeant with three years experience you can apply for Third Year entry into either a Bachelor of Organisational Leadership or Bachelor of Training and Development. Your RPL will be assessed prior to admission being granted. 

In both above cases, download the  “Letter of Attestation” to fast-track you application.
You will need to have it signed by your Education Officer
