Using the UNE website
We have been working to improve the website and other online tools to make it easier for you and your students to access information about UNE.
UNE Website:
Our UNE Website provides information on most areas of studying at UNE including comprehensive information on courses and units offered, accommodation options, scholarships, Early Entry, support services, application processes, fees and costs, clubs and societies, just to name a few.
Most of the information can be found directly in our future student portal. To access the portal, simply click the top menu option of ‘Future Students’ from the UNE homepage. Your students should be entering their section of the portal from the tile marked ‘I am about to finish High School’. The information in this section is specific to school leavers, for example: it has information about UNE Early Entry, undergraduate courses and undergraduate scholarships.
The idea of the portal is that they are only presented with relevant information. However, some links will take them outside of the portal to the main part of the website. They can return to the portal at anytime by clicking the UNE logo to return home, and then ‘Future Students’ again.
The Course and Units Catalogue is still the main source of information about specific courses. However it is fairly detailed information with many confusing terms for the uninitiated. Within the future students portal there are discipline pages (the direct link is http://une.edu.au/for/future-students/sl/disciplines) which provide a higher level of information about the various areas of study offered here at UNE. Your students may find this more accessible, and they can click through from there to the specific course information in the course and units guide as they become more focused on a particular path.
AskUNE:
If you need to have a specific question answered or you cannot find the information you need, then AskUNE which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can search by keyword to see if your questions are answered in the list of frequently asked questions, or you can simply log in and submit your query. You can also track the progress of any inquiries you have made and update your contact information.
Kate UNE:
Kate UNE is the University’s avatar on Facebook, you should encourage all students to become a friend of Kate UNE. Kate UNE is the fastest and most effective way they can be notified of things such as brochures being available, updates, new courses, closing dates and anything else they need to know through the application process.
Students can also ask simple questions of Kate and get them answered fairly quickly. (Detailed enquiries should still be directed to the Future Students Team either by phone or AskUNE).
