Upcoming 2013 Changes to FEE-HELP Eligibility

On 20 August, 2012  the Higher Education Support Amendment (Student Contribution Amounts and Other Measures) Bill 2012, was passed by the Parliament. From 1 January, 2013 onwards Students living overseas for the entire length of their degree will not be eligible for Fee-Help assistance and must pay the Domestic Tuition rate upfront.

Students continuing in their degree will be unaffected by this change, but any student transferring from one course of study to another in 2013 will come under the new eligibility criteria.

For further information on these changes please visit the Study Assist Website (www.studyassist.gov.au)
