Co-Mingled Glass Bottles, Plastic Bottles & Cans
Co-mingled recyclable material is collected at UNE on a weekly basis by the contractor.
The type of material collected in these bins includes:
- Glass bottles;
- Plastic bottles;
- Aluminium and steel cans; and
- Milk cartons
Two types of bin are provided for the collection of co-mingled recyclables:
1. A green 55L round bin with a black lid. These are generally found in tea rooms and in the corridors of buildings.
2. A larger 240L green wheelie bin with a yellow lid. These are generally provided outside of buildings.
The smaller 55L bin is emptied by cleaners every two (2) weeks.
The larger bin is collected on a weekly basis by the University contractor.
