Swipe Card Access

The University of New England users Cardax FT to operate its swipe card access on campus. Cardax FT is a comprehensive Microsoft Windows based security system that provides high-level security management for global access control, intruder alarms, voice over IP, and alarm management requirements. Swipe card access to doors controlled by Cardax is programmed onto your Student or Staff Card.

Student Access

All enrolled students at UNE automatically have swipe card access to the IT Computer Labs on campus. This is programmed onto the card when it’s first created. Students however who find that they do not have swipe card access to their residential college are asked to contact the administrative assistance from that college who will forward authorisation to Safety & Security to have access placed on your student card.

Staff Access

Staff requiring swipe card access to specific area’s or buildings on campus are asked to request the office manager in that area or building to forward your details to Safety & Security with authorisation for access to be added to your staff card.

Reporting Lost or Stolen Cards

Any staff or student card that is believed to be lost or stolen should be reported to the Safety & Security by emailing security@une.edu.au ASAP so that the card can be deactivated from the system. This will prevent someone else from accessing a secure area using your card.  Outside normal working hours please advise Safety & Security on 6773 2099.

Replacement Cards
