Security Services
Safety & Security operate 24 hours a day on campus. Safety & Security role is to provide a Safe environment where no one feels threatened and to support a Safe Living & Learning environment.
Things We Do
Services provided by Safety & Security include but are not limited to:
- Opening doors for staff members who do not have their keys.
- Patrolling the campus as well as C B Newling. We will modify and adjust our patrols to address unwelcome activity on campus.
- Isolating & De isolating Fire Panels.
- Operate the Night Ride Service.
- Parking patrols & issuing infringement notices to illegally parked vehicles.
- Traffic control at accidents.
- Management of the swipe card access control system on campus.
- Custodian duties in the theatres & halls.
- Manage Lost Property.
- Assist with jumper starting flat vehicle batteries.
- Provide an Engraving Service.
- Respond to both Security & Fire alarms
- Maintain a register of incidents on campus
Things We Dont Do
- Provide transport to Hospital. If a student or staff member is injured and requires transportation to Hospital Safety & Security will call an Ambulance.
- Safety & Security do not discipline students. This is undertaken by either the Heads of College and / or the UNE student disciplinary committee.
- Safety & Security can not provide the Police with a Statement unless we are directly involved in an incident.
- We are not a Taxi Service
