There are 2 distinct areas that are responsible for room bookings on campus. An outline of each of these areas are listed below and a guide to who you need to contact depending on the nature of your booking.

Timetabling

All general room bookings requests are to be made through the Timetabling Team which is part of Student Services by emailing roombookings@une.edu.au or by calling 6773 4444.

To assist the following criteria has been developed to assist you in identifying the the types of bookings managed by Timetabling, they are;

  • On-campus student attendance
  • Residential school attendance 
  • Ad Hoc bookings by staff who require rooms for meetings, seminars, presentations ect. 

 

Facilities Management Services

FMS manage events and venues where specialist services and event specific coordination is required. Enquiries relating to the hiring of Public Entertainment venues and the management of special events can be directed to the email address fms-events@une.edu.au or by calling 6772 3549. 

To assist the following criteria has been developed to assist you in identifying the events and venues that are managed by FMS, they are;

  • Events requiring a venue certified as a Place of Public Entertainment (PoPE).
  • Licensed Events.
  • Events attended by members of the public.
  • High profile/VIP Events

Events requiring special services such as:

  • Customised seating or room layouts
  • AV support, theatrical sound or lighting installations
  • Grounds or garden maintenance
  • Security or afterhours access
  • Special event parking or event signage (inc. flags/banners)

  • Additional cleaning or waste/recycling.

Organisations & community groups wishing to hire rooms at UNE including the C B Newling Building must first register with Facilities Management Services. In addition to completing the forms listed below the hirer needs to also provide the University with a copy of the hirers Public Liability Insurance. To hire rooms at UNE the hirer is required to have a minimum of Ten Million Dollars Public Liability Insurance cover. Further information about registering please contact FMS on the numbers above.
