Changes to Parking in 2013
Below are the operational changes to parking in 2013
- Hours of Operation for Pay Parking on campus have been amended to 8.30am – 4.30pm (Mon-Fri)
- Visitor Parking bays are now designated as Purple instead of Lime to limit confusion with other bays.
- All parking bays on campus now only operate between 8.30am – 4.30pm (Mon-Fri) to provide greater access to parking afterhours.
- The cost of parking on campus in 2013 has been amended in accordance with recommendations made as part of the 2012 Parking System Review. These fees aim to provide equity of access on a ‘user pays’ basis whilst enabling UNE to adequately maintain parking infrastructure to current standards.
- Amendments to the issuing of Parking Tickets to enable parking pro-rata payments in 1-hour increments. This allows short-term users to only pay for what they use. A 7-day Parking Ticket option for $15.00 has been retained.
- Motorcycle parking is now free of charge when bikes are parked in designated motorcycle parking areas. However, if motorcycles are parked in any other bay they must display the appropriate permit.
Fees for 2013 are as follow:
- Blue Annual Permit - $80
- Blue Trimester Permit - $40
- Red Annual Permit - $500
- Red Trimester Permit $200
- Green Annual Permit - $50
Two new permit categories have been created to improve equity:
- Pink Permits – is issued by Services UNE free of charge to patrons at the Booloominbah Collection.
- Yellow Permits – are issues to construction workers by the UNE Construction Project Managers for sole use inside established construction sites.
