Internal Mail
Envelopes for Internally Directed Mail
Wherever practicable internal mail should be sent in the re-useable yellow coloured internal mail envelopes provided. The previous address should be crossed out and the next available space on the envelope used (see example below).
The Mail Service will supply partially used internal envelopes upon request. Cost Centre staff should ensure that surplus stock is returned to Central Dispatch for reuse.
Where the use of a re-useable internal envelope is unsuitable (i.e. confidential documents) the plain coloured envelopes with “CONFIDENTIAL and INTERNAL” printed on them should be used.
Addressing Internally Directed Mail
All internal mail should be addressed to the intended recipient as per their name and building number shown in the internal UNE telephone directory. Internal mail should be placed in the mail bag at your designated collection point. No dangerous or toxic goods will be handled and fragile goods should be clearly identified. An example is shown below;
Sorting and Distribution
Correctly addressed and legible internal mail received by Central Dispatch will be sorted and distributed by the following day. Internal mail will be distributed to the designated delivery point once per day in accordance with the timetable Mail Run.
