Mail Services

UNE Mail Room

The U.N.E. Mail Service, which is located in building N3, is a unit of Campus Services which is, in turn, a section of Facilities Management Services. The Mail Service has a designated role as an intermediary between the external mail and freight service providers and the various faculties/divisions within the U.N.E. Business hours for the Mail Service are 8.00 am to 4.00 pm on normal working weekdays.

The Mail Service operates on a “cost only” recovery basis, IE. Only costs imposed by external providers are passed on to the Cost Centres serviced.  Therefore to ensure maximum cost effectiveness is derived, through current contracts and economies of scale, it is desirable that the Mail Service always be used as an intermediary for outgoing mail and freight services together with the purchase of associated product.

The Mail Service also undertakes a sorting and distribution service for internal transfers of mail, parcels, files, paper, envelopes, external student assignments, and other miscellaneous items. It also provides forklift, and gas bottle refill, services.
The University may, at its discretion, provide mail services to non-core University operations, associated entities or other parties. Provision of such services will be contingent upon an application and formal approval by relevant University authorities.
