Evacuation Pre Planning
Below are the points that need to be addressed and communicated to all staff when planning for a sucessful evacuation.
- Organise an emergency control organisation
- Formulate an emergency procedure policy
- Identify who the wardens are in each area of the building
- Provide fire orders and floor plans displayed in staff areas
- Conduct evacuation drills
- Provide on-going training
- Know location of isolation apparatus:
- Electrical power distribution boards
- Gas valves
- Air conditioning
- Provide a primary and alternative assembly area
- Have an efficient means of conducting a roll-call for all staff and visitors
