Industrial Special Risks (ISR) - Property

This policy covers all real and tangible property of every kind and description, including business interruption for physical loss, destruction or damage, subject to the policy conditions and exclusions.

An excess of $50,000 each and every claim applies. 

Public and Products Liability

This policy covers the University's legal liability to pay compensation for personal injury (non-staff) and damage to third parties property, subject to the policy conditions and exclusions.

An excess of $5,000 applies in respect of any one occurrence. 

Professional Indemnity (Replaces Errors and Omissions)

This policy covers the University, it's staff and students for legal liability arising out of a breach of professional duty by reason of any negligent act, error or omission committed or alleged to have been committed by the insured parties whilst engaged in University sanctioned teaching, research, associated consulting work and research & development activities, subject to the policy conditions & exclusions.

An excess of $50,000 applies any one act. 

Corporate Travel

This policy covers staff and students engaged in a journey within Australia or overseas on approved University Business. Cover in excess of 6 months attracts an additional premium payable by the traveller.

Additional coverage can be arranged for accompanying partners and children upon payment of a premium. A Travel Application form must be completed and can be downloaded from the frequently requested information section above. Payment is to be made to the University, via the Insurance Office, prior to commencement of the travel. This policy is subject to strict conditions and exclusions.

An excess of $250 each and every claim applies. 

Medical Malpractice

This policy provides cover for the University, its staff and students for liability as a result of damages or injury arising from malpractice associated with the following activities:

• Nursing
• Counselling
• Psychology
• Medical

An excess of $50,000 each and every claim applies. 

Comprehensive Motor Vehicle

This policy provides cover for all vehicles registered in the name of the University for loss, damage or liability arising from the lawful use of the vehicle.

Various excesses apply based on age and experience, refer motor vehicle guidelines. 

Student Personal Accident

This policy provides cover for students engaged in course related activities for accidental injury subject to strict policy conditions and exclusions.

Various excesses apply. 

Marine Hull

This policy provides cover for the University for loss or damage to all marine vessels and legal liability arising out of the use of such vessels.

An excess of $250 each claim applies. 

Marine Transit

This policy provides coverage for household goods and personal effects of new staff appointees to the value of $80,000. Additional coverage can be arranged where full declared values exceed $80,000, subject to payment by the staff member.

An excess of $500 applies.
