Research interests

For many years I have been engaged in research on stochastic frontier production functions. Much of this work has been joint with colleagues and graduate students. Several econometric models have been proposed which have been incorporated in the program, FRONTIER, written by Tim Coelli, who is now at the University of Queensland . This program has been used by several hundred researchers in many countries of the world. Recently work has been conducted on metafrontier production functions that permit estimation and comparisons of technical efficiencies for firms that operate under different technologies.
