GSB 696 Global Trade, Business and Politics
This unit relies on an understanding of the inter-disciplinary approach of international political economy. It therefore involves the study of politics, economics and some international relations. The unit aims to give students a grounding in these disciplines and an understanding of how they overlap. For instance, in developing the theme of states and markets throughout, the unit is able to offer students an opportunity to look at one of the major issues of current public debate, globalisation.
While no prior knowledge will be assumed, the unit will require a large amount of reading, and GSB 696 is probably best done as a lone unit in any one trimester.
