Australian Centre for Agriculture and Law

The Australian Centre for Agriculture and Law at the University of New England is a law and policy research and consulting centre with a research program focused on transactions, rules and institutions that govern natural resource use, primary production and rural communities.

Centre for Higher Education Management and Policy

Established in 1997, the Centre for Higher Education Management and Policy (CHEMP) is a multi-disciplinary research group that generates leading-edge research on higher education and research policy that is distinctly comparative in nature.  CHEMP runs a focused research program, supported by intensive research training.

Centre for Local Government

The Centre is a cross-faculty centre for research, consultancy and education activities. The Centre currently has more than a dozen members and associates. Administrative and financial oversight is provided by the Director. A three-person Management Committee is responsible for the strategic direction of the Centre, and for ensuring the carriage of individual areas of activity of the Centre. The Centre employs part-time research assistants for specific projects, and welcomes visiting scholars and local government professionals. The present Director is Professor Brian Dollery and Deputy Director is Joel Byrnes. The Management Committee is made up of the Director Professor Brian Dollery, Deputy Director Joel Byrnes and Andrew Johnson.

Centre for Research in Aboriginal and Multicultural Studies  

The Centre for Research in Aboriginal & Multicultural Studies (CRAMS) is a rapidly growing hub of research with the Faculty of Education, Health and Professional Studies. Much of the research carried out through the Centre is team oriented and based on collaboration between researchers and the professions or particular communities. Such collaboration has ensured that CRAMS' expertise continues to be sought by government, professional and community groups for research and consultancies at national and international levels. 

Centre for Research in English & Multiliteracies Education (CREME)

Our purpose is to enhance the quality of education by further developing a multiliteracies perspective in English teaching and in all curriculum areas in primary and secondary schools. This is to be achieved through the conduct, dissemination and application of research into the social semiotic bases of multiliteracies and the relationships among new forms of metasemiotic knowledge and effective teaching and learning practices.

Centre for Research in International Education and Sustainability (RIES)

The purpose of the Centre is twofold:
1.    To assist capacity building in education systems in developing countries by conducting research and engaging in educational projects;
2.    To conduct research into and promote education for sustainability both in Australia and internationally

The National Centre of Science, Information and Communication Technology, and Mathematics Education for Rural and Regional Australia (SiMERR)

SiMERR Australia works with rural and regional communities to achieve improved educational outcomes for all students in the areas of Science, ICT and Mathematics so that:
•    Parents can send their children to rural and regional schools and know they will experience equal opportunities for a quality education;
•    Students can attend rural or regional schools and realise their academic potential in Science, ICT and Mathematics: and
•    Teachers can work in rural and regional schools and be professionally connected and supported.
