Faculty of The Professions
The Faculty of The Professions at the University of New England covers a wide range of professions, including Medicine, Law, Business, Education, Nursing, Health and Economics. It has established a long and well recognised tradition through its internal and externally offered courses and its alumni graduates. These web pages describe the wide ranging courses offered at the undergraduate and postgraduate coursework level. The Faculty also supports a large number of higher degrees students that include external students from the United States, Bhutan, the South Pacific, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Thailand and Europe.
The Faculty has a rich tradition in Research. For example research conducted by staff in Economics (School of Business Economics and Public Policy) is internationally recognised; the Australian government funds the National Centre of Science, Information and Communication Technology, and Mathematics Education for Rural and Regional Australia (SiMERR); staff in Higher Education (School of Business Economics and Public Policy) are collaborators with The Martin Institute at the University of Melbourne (funded by the Commonwealth Government); and Staff in the School of Health are part of the establishment of a WHO collaborating centre of expertise in Thailand in Health Service Management in association with Naresuan University.
