Healthy soils: Healthy soils depend on healthy animal-plant-microbial processes and their influence on the carbon and nitrogen cycles that govern the availability of nutrients.

Soil fertility: Our staff have an international reputation in the area of soil fertility and plant nutrition research.

Monitoring and managing soil problems: Our members are involved in developing and assessing long-term soil monitoring parameters that are most useful to the farmer, the catchment and the nation.

Well structured soils: Soils that are well aggregated are essential for water infiltration and water availability to plants.
