University Student Summer Scholarships for irrigation related research and development
|
|
The National Program for Sustainable Irrigation aims to provide direct partnerships between the irrigation industry, irrigation researchers (or extension officers) and university students.
Up to four scholarships, valued at $6,000 each, are available to be awarded commencing in late 2010. The project may be carried out in late 2010 or before May 2011.
The scholarships enable university students to conduct short research, extension or industry projects under the direct supervision of a researcher, extension officer or industry role from either the public or private sector. The student will benefit from the experience of working in the irrigation industry in an R&D context.
Students can do their project at any location but must be under the direct supervision of the applicant. The scholarship is open to all university students of a high standard who are completing their senior years of an undergraduate degree relevant to irrigation management. The scholarship can also be used to support an Honours project in their final year, if the field work is done during university vacation.

|
|
The Cotton CRC is calling for applications from researchers for Summer
Scholarships across all of its Programs.
Applications must be by a Participant partner or Affiliate partner
representative and come from the researchers rather than students.
Summer Scholarships are intended to provide university students (not necessarily in their final years) with work experience in the R & D environment. They normally provide a stipend of $4,000 for 8 weeks of employment (i.e. $500 per week), and around $1,000 in operating funds. It is not necessary to have identified a student before submitting an application, but those applications where a suitable student has been identified may be given priority.
