Douglas McMaster Research Station...

Douglas McMaster Research Station is approximately 1012 hectares in area and is located approximately 30 km north of Warialda. It is owned by the University of New England, Armidale, and was bequeathed to the University by the late Douglas McMaster in 1964 to undertake research for grazing and cropping enterprises on the North West Slopes of NSW.

Since then, various trials have been undertaken by the University and various other government sponsored bodies such as DPI and CSIRO.

In 2005 the McMaster Farm Group was established to set priorities and review progress of applied research and adoption of mixed farming enterprises. The vision of this group is to develop more profitable and sustainable whole-farm systems for the region, and for the McMaster Research Station to be a credible source of information in the eyes of the farming and wider community.
