I am Chanthy Pol, a PhD student in Zoology at UNE. My PhD project commenced in July 2008 and is funded by a Jonh Allwright Fellowship in association with the ACIAR project.

I am interested in Entomology. My PhD research is on the “Potential influence of Climate change on the green vegetable bug (GVB), Nezara viridula and its parasitoid, Trichopoda spp.”. The project has focused on the effects of temperature and humidity regimes on the development and life cycle of N. viridula and its parasitoid Trichopoda spp. from different natural climatic gradients, Breeza and Grafton. Breeza, in North-Western NSW represents a dry climate and Grafton, on the North Coast of NSW represents a hot and humid climate. The project also involves physiological studies with emphasis on the discriminating temperature of N. viridula and the effects of acclimation of temperature on the discrimination temperature.
