Postgraduate Research
The School of Environmental and Rural Science has highly active and internationally recognized research programs in all the discipline areas and subject areas in which we operate. Our research Masters students and PhD students have the opportunity to gain experience and qualifications in research while simultaneously making valuable contributions to their chosen research area. Our postgraduate research students work with recognized experts while building networks with their mentors and peers that will stay with them for life.
The highly diverse agricultural and environmental systems and zones in the Armidale region provides a unique research environment for many of our students. Our overseas students find it particularly advantageous to study with us because we offer access to ecological and agricultural environments that are relevant around the world.
We encourage prospective postgraduate research students to explore our subject area pages to learn more about our areas of interest and to contact an academic staff member directly to explore opportunities for study in a particular area. Many staff can offer targeted research scholarships, usually related to specific research grants, and staff can often work with good prospective students to create projects targeted to their specific needs. UNE Research Scholarships are also available through a competitive application process.
