Pathways Enabling Course
Who is the Pathways Enabling Course for and what is it about? Answer
The Pathways Enabling Course will give you the skills and the confidence that you need if you don't have the educational background for admission to an undergraduate course at UNE.
If you have not previously completed any part of a university course, or if you want to be better prepared for undergraduate study then this is the course for you.
What units of study (subjects) are available within the Pathways Enabling Course? Answer
The Pathways Enabling Course consists of two Foundation units that provide the basic skills and knowledge required for successful first year university study: Foundation 101 and Foundation 102; plus two faculty-based elective units. The latter may later be able to be credited towards your undergraduate degree. These units are selected from a list containing subjects in each faculty and major courses. To view that list click here.
Note that each of the faculty-based elective units has a foundation unit as a co-requisite.
How is the Pathways Enabling Course offered? Answer
The Pathways Enabling Course is taught fully online by distance education with commencement available in Trimester 1, 2 or 3 each year from 2012. The course runs over two trimesters, part-time. The inherent requirements of this course are the ability to use a computer, access to a computer and access to the internet.
Both of the Foundation units, FNDN101 and FNDN102, have optional intensive schools in April and September. Some elective units may also involve mandatory or optional intensive schools. Intensive school requirements can be found on the unit entry in the Course and Unit Catalogue
