Preparing a Contract
Once a potential project has been approved through by the Academic and Entrepreneurial committee process a contract must be prepared.
The process of negotiation leading to the establishment of a formal Contract with a partner may be undertaken by any member of the UNE community subject to the approval of the relevant Head of School or Director.
UNE Legal will provide templates for standard contracts or draft complex contracts where required.
For projects involving international students, UNE Legal will liaise with UNE International in respect to detailed advice on legislative compliance with The Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 (please refer to the current amendment or version) and associated framework.
It is rare for a contract to be approved by both parties from the first draft. Be prepared for extensive two-way negotiation and remember that both UNE Legal and UNE International are available to assist and guide you through this process.
